I had the privilege of reading a copy of “A Musher’s Dream,Team Ineka,” by Robert and Michele Forto and found it a delightful little book. The illustrations capture your heart and the story of how the spirit of Ineka, the much-beloved husky who passed on before the Fortos realized their Iditarod dream—but who nevertheless continues to inspire it and watch over the progress of the new dogs who joined their household and mushing team—is simply touching.

This wonderful book is geared towards children but I certainly enjoyed it!!! A story about Team Ineka and their dream to run the Iditarod… I do have a personal interest in it as it stars two dogs that came from my kennel… I believe in you Robert Forto and can’t wait for the ending to happen in real life!!!! Then the sequel – Coming into NOME!!!

I loved your book “A Musher’s Dream Team Ineka” The story is interesting and the illustrations are wonderful. I read to my grandson of 14months old and he engaged with the pictures (we did a shortened version due to his short baby attention span) He loved pointing at the husky pictures. I think this is a great book for a younger child as a pre- chapter book. Thank you for sharing your experience through the story. It engaged us from an illustrated point and from the story line. I recommend this to all my friends with dog loving kids. Take Care!
Seabreeze
Hi my name is Seabreeze. I am part of the Kasilof crew I arrived at Team Ineka with my two brothers Ragnar and Trapper. I’m a huge goof ball off the gang line. My absolute favorite person in the world is Nicole. Shortly after my arrival at Team Ineka I received an injured paw and Nicole took the slow time and care to nurse me back to health from there on my heart belonged to her. I run best in wheel pulling hard along with Trapper and Ragnar. I got the excellent privilege to run in lead for the first time this fall training season with Nicole and Robert. Nicole believed in me the whole way but i was a bit out of my element and way to overwhelmed so I’m back to being right in front of the sled where I belong. I hope to go on my first race and camping trip with Nicole this season.

Vela
Hi, my name is Vela. I am part of the Kasilof Crew and also one of the main leaders in the kennel. I am very shy until I get in my harness and then I am all business.
I have been part of Team Ineka now for a year and a half, I’m not as shy with Nicole and Michele. I love hitting the snowy trails behind our kennel and running for hours. I hate running in the fall on the muddy puddle soaked trails. My best teammate is Ty-Ty although she and I get into trouble sometimes goofing off on the fall trails. I too share the same bloodlines as the rest of the Kasilof Crew.

Carter
Hi, may name is Carter. I am part of the Point Break Crew and I come all the way from California. No, not Hollywood but up near the mountains.
I joined Team Ineka as a young pup in the Spring of 2012. I am 18 months old and not quite ready to run with the big team yet. My buddies, “The Nightmare Crew” are just a month older than I am and they already have ran for more than 650 miles. I have tried a couple of times but I don’t like the ATV. I’m one of the smallest dogs here at Team Ineka and the mushers are giving me time to grow-up. This season I plan to try running with my younger kennel mates from the 9-11 Crew on the cart.

Trapper
Hi, my name is Trapper I’m part of the Kasilof Crew; my bloodlines can be tracked back to Dave Scheer lines from the Iditarod in the late 80’s early 90’s. I’m by far the largest dog in the Team Ineka kennel. I am strong and powerful. I joined Team Ineka in the summer of 2012 and I have trained with the team for over 2000 miles. I run in team and wheel. I ran with Robert on the Nome Sign 40 race last year and proved to The Musher that I can run with the big boys!
Talent: I never quit on the line I can hold back the team to assist the musher.
